What is 802.11 ad? | Wireless AD | Wireless Standards: 802.11ad is also called as WiGig 1.0 (Wireless Gigabit Alliance). Wireless AD or 802.11 ad is an advanced specification in the 802.11 family which is applicable to WLANs (Wireless Local Area Network). The Wireless AD or 802.11 AD describes an update or extension of the current Wireless A / 802.11a standard. The Networks which uses 802.11-AD will operate in the 60GHz band.
The 802.11 ad operates using Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). The enhancements which are supported by the Wireless AD or 802.11AD will promote simultaneous streaming of HD Video to many clients in a larger office environment. It also helps in faster wireless synchronization and used to backup large files at a time.
What is 802.11 AD?
